What a peel actually does
Peels are Banana's traps in Escape. They are turned off in Infection and in Banana Split. A Runner who just took a bite, or who is on a blue powerup, does not trip. A stun also ends early if you bite the Runner during it.
Four jobs show up in the trap lists:
- Stun peels freeze controls.
- Slow peels cut speed but still let the Runner move, including through a vent.
- Disabling peels lock movement and blank the beacon for a few seconds.
- Unique peels add coins, a highlight, or a bait graphic.
Numbers worth comparing
These capacities and durations are the figures repeated in the peel comparisons. They are not an official RyCitrus tier list.

Ghostly Peel is the default pick when you want a down. Ghost Slowing Slime is the pick when you want a long trail and you are already near the vent. Happy Peel is the coin tool once you are level 64, not a stronger stun.
Where to drop them
- On the cake plate and in front of keypads. Solvers are looking at the puzzle, not the floor.
- On the exit side of a vent, not deep inside where you cannot reach.
- On the only stair of a two-floor map.
- Across both exit doors in the seconds before 1:00.
Plantain Cabins also has loose bananas on the ground that can hide a peel. Do not assume a yellow shape on that map is only scenery.
